Google display URL

Today I found a new message alert in my Google adwords account:

Starting in April, display URLs for new ads will be required to match their destination / landing page URLs, without exception. Please adjust your URLs accordingly when creating new ads.

Google - Special Search box below site links in Search results.

Google was displaying a search box below the site links.

Example: Type for DMV or DMV.org in Google, you will find a search box below the site links to respective sites.

This option was reflecting to the sites which were having site search feature in their site.

This feature will allow the visitor to type what he requires in the search box provided in the search results without entering the site.

Hope all the webmasters start adding search features to their sites after seeing this

Google embeddable maps coming soon

Google will shortly roll-out a new feature on its mapping service that will allow users to easily embed maps directly into web pages.

Wikipedia listings in Google search results

From past couple of weeks we observed Wikipedia results coming in top 10 search results for any keyword in Google.

Lets try it out with below keywords:

1. web hosting - 4th position
2. web designing - 2nd position
3. SEO - 1st position

For most of our keywords Wikipedia.org is became our competitor.

Why Google showing Wikipedia.org in search results? Whats the reason behind this? Is Google wants to make the visitor feel that he is visiting genuine sites?

Google index check

Here is a Google tool to check whether the site is indexed or not. If the site is already indexed by Google, it will show the details of the last crawl.

Google Minus 30 Penalty

Now a days most of the sites are suffering from Google’s Minus 30 penalty. In this all the keywords will not rank better than 31st position.

The possible reasons for this penalty are having more number of out bound links from the site, interlinking between same theme sites belonging to single person and last but not the least duplicate content.
